On the Lake Myakka airboat tour

Myakka River surrounds the Myakka River, Lake Myakka, Lower Myakka Lake, and the surrounding wetlands and forests. During my visit I first went on an airboat tour of Upper Myakka Lake. The park claims that the boats are some of the world's largest airboats. On the tour around the lake I saw a variety of birds and several alligators.

After the airboat tour I went to the canopy walkway. The walkway is 25 feet above the ground and 100 feet long. At one end of the walkway is a tower that rises to 74 feet above the canopy of the surrounding forest. I thought this walkway was really interesting as you could see all the bromeliads and other life living above the ground in the trees. The Boylston Nature Trail is a short loop trail that connects to the canopy walkway.
